There is a touch of sadness at the ending of any chapter, however John and Alan both felt that by releasing two of John's paintings as co-signed limited edition prints that it would be a fitting way for people to remember and celebrate 'Barleywood' and Alan's huge contribution to the Gardeners' World programme which he leaves in December 2002. Both Alan Titchmarsh and the artist John Dyer will personally sign each of the specially produced limited edition prints and 10% of the profits from the sale of these will be given to the 'Gardens for Schools' charity. It is hoped that at least another 15 to 20 schools will be able to be supported through the sale of the prints. John Dyer has also secured hundreds of plants to be donated to these gardens from famous cornish gardens. |

'Last
Summer, Barleywood' In
this beautiful painting John has captured the view through Alan's garden
to his 'Pavilion' where he sits to write his famous novels. Alan can
be seen in the painting standing with his dog Grace and his well known
cats, Spud and Hector look on. The painting radiates summer sunshine
and warmth and makes a wonderful way in which to remember this fantastic
and celebrated garden.
'Oranges
and Lemons, Barleywood' 'Oranges and Lemons' has been painted from the centre of Alan's Garden looking back towards his famous greenhouse where countless plants have been raised for the garden. The painting shows Alan's love of mediterranean plants which John has painted in his unique way to create a vibrant and citrus coloured painting. Alan can be seen tending his plants by the greenhouse while his black cat quietly waits for him. You can almost hear the trickling fountain and feel the heat of the summer sun in this wonderful painting. Limited Edition Layout (Unframed example. Paper Size: 500mm x 700mm) These special Limited Editions are printed on PH Neutral 350gsm paper using the highest quality inks. Each print has a cream margin surrounding the image and within this margin each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist John Dyer, and co-signed by Alan Titchmarsh MBE.
